There are two opposing driving forces in the 1st century of the 3rd Millennium: 

• An awareness that CLIMATE CHANGE is the millennial generation ́s, indeed the world‘s major concern

• Opposed by the indisputable fact that Energy is the key to economic growth throughout the developing economies and s in itself the solution to many problems of the world

However, at the same time the very production of energy is a synonym for almost all factors that are impacting and driving climate change.

An independent Life Cycle Assessment report has assessed and estimated the while live cycle carbon emissions associated with the production of black pellets at our Peace River bio fuel plant in Mackenzie County, Canada to be 68,995 tons per annum.

• CO2 emissions associated with product transportation was calculated to 13,609 tons per annum, a high proportion of which emanates from the transportation of the raw material source to plant site. Given the plant size and the production capacity, the transportation emissions stand for 0.04 tons CO2 emissions per tons black pellets productions (3.8%)
  
  

• CO2 emissions from the production plant itself was calculated to 55,386 tons per annum, equivalent to 0.153 tons of CO2 emissions per ton of wood pellet productions.
